Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Disappointed Over Emmy Snub: Royal Documentary Fails to Garner Nominations

Despite stirring significant public interest with their revealing documentary series, “Harry & Meghan,” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left empty-handed in this year’s Emmy nominations.

Earlier this week, the full list of nominees for the 2023 Emmy Awards was released, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not make the cut. Their return to Hollywood with the much-talked-about docuseries failed to secure any nods from the Television Academy.

Renowned British Royal expert Ingrid Seward shed light on the couple’s reaction. “Harry and Meghan are undoubtedly disheartened by the snub, even if they’re trying to maintain a brave face,” Seward remarked. “It appears their series didn’t meet the critical standards required for an Emmy nomination.”

Seward further elaborated, “The documentary paints the Royal Family as antagonists, while portraying Harry and Meghan as the world’s saviors. It delves deeply into the ‘struggles’ they face in a world often viewed through rose-colored glasses.”

The series, which captivated audiences with its shocking revelations about the British Royal Family, amassed an impressive 81.6 million viewing hours. However, it seems curiosity alone wasn’t enough to translate into critical acclaim. Compounding their woes, the couple’s media ventures have hit a rough patch, notably with the loss of a $20 million deal with Spotify.

Nevertheless, Harry and Meghan remain hopeful. With their ongoing contract with Netflix, they aspire to make a triumphant return to Hollywood with future projects.
