Scott Hodges has always had a special place in his heart for pit bulls. He once owned a beloved pittie named Sheba, who passed away in 2004 after 15 wonderful years together.
For the past 32 years, Hodges has been a UPS driver, and his love for pit bulls is a daily part of his job. He encounters various animals on his route, including a notably friendly pig, but pit bulls hold a special spot in his heart. Over the years, he’s formed bonds with many of them, and they adore him just as much.
“I know most, but not all, of the pitties by name,” Hodges shared with The Dodo.
Each day, as he navigates his UPS route, Hodges takes the time to greet his pit bull friends, along with other dogs he encounters. These dogs have grown to recognize him and eagerly await his arrival, knowing he’ll bring love and treats.
“All the pitties on my route are friendly, and I give them biscuits every time I see them,” Hodges said.
To keep track of the pitties he meets, Hodges snaps numerous photos …
… and likely has a picture of every pit bull on his route by now.
The pit bulls are always thrilled to see him …
… with some showing off a bit more than others.
Occasionally, he photographs other dogs along his route too …
… but pit bulls will always be his favorites.
Hodges considers himself fortunate to work a job where he can see pit bulls every day, and he never tires of stopping to greet all his canine friends.
